Basically Books is a series of weekly seminars conducted by senior professionals for the purpose of introducing junior staff members to the fundamentals of book production and manufacturing. The five week schedule is as follows: 1. Tuesday, March 23 – Editing and Design with Becky Homiski and Carla Talmadge (W.W. Norton) 2. Tuesday, March 30 – Pre-press with Brent Marple (Courier) 3. Tuesday, April 6 – Paper with Janet McCarthy Grimm (Lindenmeyr) 4. Tuesday, April 13 – Printing and Binding with a speaker to be determined 5. Tuesday, April 20 – Digital Printing with David Zellner (Yurchak Printing) Where: Oxford University Press, 198 Madison Avenue, Empire State Conference Room, 13th Floor When: Tuesday, March 23 and each Tuesday for 5 consecutive weeks ending in April. One morning per week from 9:00 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. This program is free and there is a strict registration limit of two participants per company. Additional registrants will be wait-listed.
