Literacy Events for Summer 2008

The charity committee of the Bookbinders' Guild of New York, co-chaired by Paul Stanley and Michael Weinstein, enters its 15th year. So far over $285,000 have been raised for the Literacy Assistance Center.

Schedule of events:

July and early August - Advertisements go on sale for the annual softball game program. As per years past, we expect to raise between $13,000 and $15,000. The ads are inexpensive, great exposure, and all proceeds are donated to the Literacy Assistance Center. Contact Paul Stanley (Courier Companies) for details.

August 16 - Softball Game in Central Park, Great Lawn, 2:30 pm - 5:30 pm, fields 3, 5, and 6. Anyone can participate. Childrens' books, donated by publishers, are available for free. Also great raffle prizes including Yankees and Mets tickets, dinners at great local restaurants, books, cd's, etc.
